I had a mixed experience during my recent stay at El Cortez. The vintage charm of the casino and the friendly staff were definite highlights, making for a cozy atmosphere. However, my experience was marred by a leak in my bathroom and noisy disturbances from nearby nightlife, which interrupted my sleep. Overall, while there are many positives, especially with the dining options, there are areas that need improvement.

Rooms
6.0
I stayed in one of the recently updated rooms, which were indeed nice and clean. However, I had a persistent leak in the bathroom that required me to move rooms, and the replacement room was quite noisy, affecting my ability to rest.
Service
6.0
The staff were genuinely friendly and accommodating, which was a nice aspect of my stay. However, I had some issues with the reception not being particularly helpful regarding my bathroom problem.
Location
8.0
The location near Fremont Street made it easy to explore the area and enjoy the local vibe. It's one of the first casinos in Las Vegas and close to numerous attractions, which is a definite plus.
Dining
9.0
I really enjoyed the dining at Siegel’s restaurant, especially the prime rib special at an affordable price. It exceeded my expectations for in-hotel dining.
Facilities
7.0
El Cortez offers a good range of facilities, including a small gym and shuttle service, but I felt that the communication about amenities could be improved. The added amenities fee felt a bit hidden at check-in.

6.8/10

Staying at the El Cortez was a mixed experience for me. The location near Fremont Street was perfect, and I appreciated the vintage charm of the hotel. My room in the premium tower was nicely appointed, but the lack of privacy in the bathroom was quite bothersome. Despite the friendly staff, the resort fee felt unwarranted given the limited amenities.

Rooms
6.0
The premium tower room was well-decorated and provided essential amenities like a fridge and a large TV. However, the bathroom design left much to be desired. partitions made it uncomfortable for shared stays.
Service
7.0
I encountered a mostly friendly staff, though some interactions weren't as warm as I hoped, particularly at the players club desk. The maid service was excellent, ensuring the room was clean and comfortable during my stay.
Location
8.0
The hotel's proximity to Fremont Experience was fantastic, allowing easy access to local attractions without the noise of the main strip. Being a block away from public transport was a definite plus for getting around the area.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed the meals at Siegel's 1941; the food was delicious and reasonably priced, though my experience with service there had mixed moments. Overall, the dining options on-site contributed positively to my stay.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel lacks a pool and other facilities typically found in larger resorts, which is disappointing given the resort fee. However, there were convenient services like airport shuttles and good access to nearby dining options.

My stay at El Cortez Hotel & Casino had its ups and downs. The vintage charm of the place is definitely appealing, and I loved the atmosphere, but I faced some frustrating issues with the front desk staff and the cleanliness of my room. I enjoyed some of the dining options, but the resort fees felt a bit steep for what was offered.

Rooms
5.0
I booked a vintage room that honestly felt old and not very clean. The view from the room was lacking and there were a few maintenance issues, such as a power strip just lying in the middle of the floor. The comfort of the bed saved it a bit for me, but overall, I was disappointed with the room's condition.
Service
5.0
The staff I interacted with were friendly, but the front desk experience was a nightmare. I was treated rudely and had issues with my reservation, which really put a damper on my overall vibe during check-in.
Location
5.0
The location is near Fremont Street, which is convenient for exploring downtown Las Vegas, but I found navigating through the casino to reach the entrance a bit annoying, as it felt like a maze of slot machines.
Dining
6.0
I enjoyed the dining options available on-site, especially at Siegel's 1941. The meals were affordable, but I did notice some rising prices, which seemed a bit out of place for a budget-friendly destination.
Facilities
5.0
I wasn't thrilled about the resort fee considering the lack of amenities like a pool. The vibe of the place is nice, and I appreciated the nostalgic atmosphere, but I expected more for the amount I paid.

I had a good stay at the El Cortez Hotel, with a welcoming staff and a cozy, nostalgic ambiance that I enjoyed. The location was fantastic, just a short walk from the vibrant Fremont Street, allowing me to explore without the noise of the Strip. Though my room in the tower was well-appointed, I did experience some minor issues with noise and temperature control. Overall, I appreciated the value and unique charm this hotel offered.

Rooms
8.0
I stayed in a tower premium room that exceeded my expectations, especially with the large king-size beds. However, I encountered a persistent banging noise from the bathroom pipes, which was a bit bothersome.
Service
7.0
The reception staff were friendly and quick during check-in, making me feel welcome right away. I had a few minor interactions with other staff, some of whom were less engaged, but overall, service was satisfactory.
Location
9.0
El Cortez's location was perfect for me, situated near downtown and easily accessible to bus stops that connect to the Strip. I enjoyed the nostalgia of the area and the convenience of nearby attractions.
Dining
8.0
I found the dining options, especially at Bugsy's Restaurant, to be quite enjoyable and reasonably priced. The breakfast menu offered a good variety, and I appreciated the discounts from the players club.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered essential facilities like housekeeping and dry cleaning services, but I did notice the casino and gaming area could use some updates to be more competitive with modern trends.

5.0/10

My stay at El Cortez Hotel & Casino was overall enjoyable, but there were some drawbacks. The location near Fremont Street is fantastic, providing easy access to dining and entertainment options. The friendly staff made me feel welcomed, but the cleanliness of my room left much to be desired. While I appreciated the vintage charm of the hotel, I noticed that my Cabana Suite needed a thorough cleaning, which impacted my experience.

Rooms
6.0
I stayed in a Cabana Suite, and while it had a vintage feel, cleanliness was an issue. There was a layer of dust everywhere, and it felt like the room hadn’t been attended to properly for a while.
Service
6.0
The reception staff were warm and welcoming, and they patiently answered my questions. However, service at the bar was inconsistent, and it took a long time to get a drink, which was frustrating during my gaming experience.
Location
8.0
The hotel's location is a major plus, right on Fremont Avenue it was convenient for exploring and enjoying local cuisine. It's a vibrant area without the chaos of the Strip, which I appreciated.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed the varied dining options available nearby. Siegel's 1941, in particular, was a great find for affordable meals, adding value to my stay.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel offers convenient services, like airport shuttles, but the cleanliness of my room was concerning. I hope better attention to detail can enhance the overall experience.
